A happy class after a sponsored visit to Wellington

posted 27 Mar 2018, 00:09 by Web Master   [ updated 27 Mar 2018, 00:11 ]

As a part of the social outreach programme of Walk Wellington, arrangements were made for a class of 11 and 12 year old children from Titahi Bay North School to visit Wellington City.
They enjoyed going to the He Tohu exhibition at the National Library, viewing Wellington from the top of Wellington's highest building, the Majestic Centre, and also seeing interesting exhibits in the Museum of Wellington. For many of the children it was a first time to these interesting attractions.
The report from the school is attached below.
Thanks are due to our guides Gavin, Stella and Gerald for making this event such a success.

Cruise ship season for 2018 - 2019 summer- additional walk available

posted 2 Oct 2014, 15:30 by Web Master   [ updated 23 May 2018, 14:25 ]

Over the 2018/2019 summer Wellington will be hosting 111 visits by cruise ships, from early October to late April. The schedule of cruise ship arrivals is available here.

1805 Cruise Ship Schedule 2018 2019.pdf

If you are a passenger on a cruise ship we would be delighted to be able to show you some of the special aspects of our home town, while on one of our walks.
On cruise ship days we have arranged a special 2 hour walk which conveniently starts from the city drop off point from the shuttle in Brandon St.
The charge for these walks is $NZ20 which can either be paid in cash to your guide, or online. Instructions on how to access the special on line booking process for this walk will be provided when the walk has been confirmed.  Note that the cost is significantly less than the cost of tours booked on board.
Bookings for this walk are essential and need to be confirmed at least 48 hours before the start time (so that we can arrange for your guide).
More information on this special walk is given on the  Passengers on Cruise Ships  page.

To  book or enquire about this walk please contact Walk Wellington by email information@walkwellington.org.nz

Alternatively you could join our regular 10am walk from the iSITE at 111 Wakefield  St at Cuba St, which is also detailed on the  Daily Walks page.
